The Story Behind the Name

WovenArc was born from a simple belief: the most meaningful experiences in life are rarely understood in the moment.

What "WovenArc" means

The name holds two ideas.

Woven speaks to how meaningful experiences come together. A trip, a retreat, a gathering — these are not single moments. They are composed of many threads: conversations, decisions, quiet realizations, shared meals, unexpected connections. In the midst of it, these threads can feel scattered and disconnected. But over time, they begin to form something larger — the way a tapestry looks chaotic from the back but reveals a picture from the front.

Arc speaks to the bigger story. Every meaningful experience has one — a beginning, a middle, and a resolution that often only becomes visible in hindsight. The arc is the shape of what happened. It's the testimony of what a group went through together and what it meant.

WovenArc exists to help that picture emerge more clearly — not by imposing a narrative, but by gathering the threads and creating the conditions for the arc to become visible.

Meaning takes time to see

What feels scattered while living it can often be seen more clearly in hindsight. Like the back of a tapestry, the process can feel messy up close. But over time, a larger picture emerges.

We believe this is true for mission trips. For retreats. For global gatherings. For any experience where people come together with purpose. The most transformative moments are often the ones that don't make the highlight reel — the conversation after the session, the question someone finally asked, the connection that formed quietly over shared work.

These moments deserve to be gathered. Not because every experience needs to be documented, but because the people who shared them deserve to see what they built together.

Why we built this

WovenArc grew out of years of leading and participating in trips, retreats, and gatherings — and consistently feeling the gap between the richness of the experience and the thinness of what remained afterward.

Schedules did their job. Photos captured surfaces. But the deeper things — what people learned, how the group changed, the conversations that shifted someone's direction — those almost always faded. Not because they didn't matter. Because there was no place for them.

WovenArc is that place. A simple, shared space where the before, during, and after of a meaningful experience can live together — and where the bigger story can begin to emerge.

The beginning of something larger

WovenArc begins with individual trips, retreats, and gatherings. But the vision is broader.

Over time, we believe there is an opportunity to help people see how their meaningful experiences connect — not just within a single trip, but across years of journeys, retreats, and shared moments. The arc of a single trip is powerful. The arc of a life shaped by many such experiences is something else entirely.

We're starting with the foundation: helping one group, on one journey, see what they experienced together more clearly. Everything we build from here will grow from that simple, human beginning.

We're inviting a small number of organizations to pilot WovenArc. If this resonates, we'd love to talk.
